In recent years, more and more smoking cessation programs and clinics have emerged.

Some smokers have asked us if they can easily quit our Rien Pipe product or if they need additional treatment to quit smoking. Others have asked if they can use Rien Pipe in conjunction with a demolition program (short answer: absolutely) and wondered what that type of program could mean. In many cases, about the cost of smoking cessation programs, people wonder whether they are really effective. These people may be reluctant to quit smoking just because of an imaginary hurdle that it can be expensive to see a professional. This time around, we will share the benefits of visiting a smoking cessation clinic, the time and cost of smoking cessation.

Benefits of participating in a smoking cessation program

how to choose a clinic for the termination of therapy

In general, there are many people who are frustrated with their smoking habit and are taking steps to quit, but cannot continue to quit on their own for various reasons. However, it appears that around 80% of people who received advice on smoking cessation were ultimately able to quit smoking.

Taking part in an abandonment program or receiving abandonment counseling not only increases your chances of quitting, but also your chances of quitting in the long term. The professionals who run such programs can help you quit smoking in a way that suits you. In addition, you can help keep your motivation up by checking in regularly with your resignation coach. It is very encouraging to have someone with experience to support you and your smoke free goal.

In these programs, the doctor or counselor may recommend medication or nicotine replacement treatment (NRT) to help manage your smoking addiction. One benefit of abandonment programs is taking advice from a trained professional who has helped others quit in the past.

Rien Pipe represents a fairly new approach to smoking cessation, and at this point in time, many smoking cessation counselors may not be familiar with the benefits. Because Rien Pipe is a non-pharmaceutical approach to smoking cessation, it is best used in combination with counseling that focuses on techniques that can help you change your behavior. If you need help explaining how Rien Pipe works, please contact us.

Does the insurance cover smoking cessation?

Plan your smoking cessation

Short answer: in most cases – even if you don’t have insurance – there is likely a free treatment program available to help you quit smoking. The extent to which health insurance covers the termination of treatment depends on the state and the insurance company involved.

If you live in the United States, the Affordable Care Act (ObamaCare) includes smoking cessation therapy (including medication) as a free prevention service for all non-grandfather plans sold since September 23, 2010. (Indeed, if you are a smoker your insurer may charge you up to 50% more for your smoking status.) In general, you are considered a smoker if you have used tobacco 4 or more days a week for the past 6 months. If you have another insurer you should give them a call or see their website to see what kind of support they offer.

In other countries the system can be very different. Some only support up to 4 termination attempts per year and only offer a certain number of nicotine patches or telephone support. Others require that you agree in writing to participate in a termination program and state your reasons for the intended termination. The good thing is that many countries have national smoking cessation hotlines that you can ask for advice. Some of these are listed below.

Australia

Canada

Phone: 1-877-513-5333

United Kingdom

How much do smoking cessation programs cost?

Depending on the individual circumstances, most demolition programs have a basic free option for which additional paid options are available. This can, for example, consist of 4 telephone consultations (once a week for 4 weeks) or personal outpatient visits. In general, paid programs typically run for 8 to 12 weeks (2-3 months), include a certain number of subsidized NRT, and cost between $ 100 and $ 200. There are also a number of ongoing smoking studies and clinical trials that people interested in smoking cessation may also consider.

When you consider how much you are spending on cigarettes, you will likely find that even the short-term cost of smoking is more expensive than the treatment options available. And when you’re weighing the long-term consequences of smoking (e.g., hospitalization for heart attack, cancer treatment, surgery, and the like), it pays to invest in quitting smoking.

Last word

This time around we recorded certain details about the time, cost, benefit, etc., in smoking cessation clinics. There are many forms of abandonment programs, some of which focus on individual treatment, while others involve group counseling. In general, an abandonment counseling combined with an abandonment aid like Rien Pipe can dramatically increase your chances of quitting and quitting. If you are seriously thinking about quitting, take action today: call your state or national smoking cessation line or insurer and take this step to finally become a non-smoker.
